we've got the usual nameless invincible protaginist
we've got the usual hoard of nameless punching bags hurling themselves at the protaginist at machspeed for the entirety of the flash
and we've got the usual nameless boss at the end

don't get me wrong the animation was acceptional (and maybe for you groundbreaking) but if ones not harsh nobody will advance.

bottom line
your going to have to do a lot more to stand out in the flash portalat this time.
a good story, perhaps?

Charming but cliche sprite movie

Oi, where do I begin... firstly as an animator you have bucketfulls of potential, I don't know why you would limit yourself to SMBZ style flashes.
But I came to review the movie, not to waist my time expressing my concern about your choice of animation expression so let's just get on with it

STORY/CHARACTERS- subpar, cliche, nothing I haven't seen before
I know this may be for leisure measures but let's be honest, looking beyond even the cardboard clone characters, your story could be interesting if you tried.

Try giving the supporting characters more depth because right now they just seem like cheap comic relief. I can't speak for the main character yet because I haven't watched your 1st installment so I won't mention him
(although I found him to be very annoying throughout the flash)

Second, branch out of the Sonic & Mario mindset that SMBZ has done so well to drill into our heads for the past 4 years.
Think, I know you can come up with better stories than this.

ANIMATION-Too SMBZish, awkward at some points, fight scenes lacked punch
Firstly if you're going to use sprites at least do a good job on concealing the edits.
Some of the sprites just looked like a mess of unreasonably thick MSpaint gradients, the shoes on the chao characters as an example

A lot of the 3D perspectives were just really fail, usually ending up looking like a bunch of irregular cropped bitmaps, the characters thrown in only making it look even MORE disproportionate

The fights, as I stated before, lacked bass
Yes there were lots of DBZ movie clips and wav sounds but it lacked any real camera/magnatude dynamics and I could tell there was just lots of image/movieclip tweening

It was subpar, you might want to work on it

HUMOR cursing- and maybe a few recycled SMBZ jokes

Don't get me wrong this could have a lot of potential but it's just not there yet

I appreciate the constructive review, but what do you mean by "SMBZ fight scenes" and DBZ sound effects and graphics? Especially considering this flash contains none of those things.

I hear you on the cliche' characters thing though (and the 3D part at the end I will admit didn't look as good as I'd hoped...). I'm still developing the characters, so next time I will make them less generic.

this is only my second animation and i only used the energy beam as a good way for Mario to get hurt, i would see the fighting style of future episodes to be more elemental and swordplay styled

we already have about a thousand attempted madness movies scattered all around the place, most of them with virtually no storyline like this one.

make up your OWN shit instead of constantly trying to hold someone else's dick
that's what separates the fanboys from the actually SUCCESSFUL animators

0/10 for creativity

Animation was like any other madness movie
a big pickle with a head having his hands tweened all all over the place

the guns were lacking depth perception, you didn't do anything interesting with the background and the "blood" was just gradients from (what I guess) MS paint being tweened

4/10 for animation
2/5 overall

I'm going to be perfectly honest-

MUSIC-SOUND
basically an AMV in the form of an swf file
hated the corny screamo music and no sound effects at all

could've been ALOT better here
the animation seemed rushed and sloppy from the very beginning especially by you standards
and I think we can all agree you other madness day flash was alot better

Okay here's what i want you to do: type in SONIC in the search bar on newgrounds and see how many forgotten fanboy-made sonic sprite series there are. Crazy amirite?
Then look at the front page to see the successful flashes everyone's reviewing and balling over.

You know the difference?
the successful people actually put in the time to MAKE THEIR OWN CHARACTERS
actually DRAW their own graphics instead of using half-assed MS paint edited sprites

just because you say mario not going in your flash doesn't chance the fact that your still thinking like a fan
the whole CHAOS EMERALD MECHA SONIC idea has been exhausted to death and its not like you're trying to break the ice. All your doing is taking what would normally be a sonic sprite movie and focusing around tails.

try to revise this into a more creative and promising project

Sorry, couldn't resist. I would love to follow your advice, but unfortunately I'm not in the slightest artistically talented at anything that involves drawing. Or sculpting, painting, physical exertion, or just about any other form of expression. Trust me, I've tried. As for my lack of creativity, it's coupled to the lack of talent. I can't draw original characters, because I can't draw anything.

And besides, having copyrighted characters doesn't necessarily mean I have to stick the routine. (If I was going to do that, Tails would pretty much do nothing the whole time and then remind Sonic on how to jump. (Hint: Try the A button!)) The fun comes in the story, not the characters. And another thing, I like them. I'm a fan of all sorts of things. (Mostly anime, could you geass? No, that was not a typo. Nevermind...) I don't want to make my own characters, I want to take characters I already like, and MAKE THEM BETTER. It's not that I'm lazy, I think I can do this, and do it well. We'll see, right?

In a nutshell! I can be original, but it wouldn't really be mine. It'd be a lie. A lie to myself. The worst kind. I'm going to make this, whether people like it or not.

if your going to make a teaser, post it on spam the web or youtube and put a link on your newspost

the flash portal is only for serious completed works not skits of future flashes you claim to finish
